A Deeper Look at Inglourious Basterds and Review by “YE”

SPOILER ALERT!

When I was told that I was going to watch a Nazi documentary I got excited, but then halfway through came the biggest twist of all.

While watching Inglorious Bastards for the third time in a row, around the halfway point my brain had an epiphany. Actually, I had two epiphanies.

One: People out there are led to believe that this is a documentary. You know, I only believed this because this is what I was forced to believe. The people around me, whom I no longer associate with, told me to believe this and before I did my own research and started to read the bible in its entirety three times a day, I did believe them. But I’m telling you to look at those credits again. Look at those credits again and tell me why Brad Pitt’s name is in the credits. You’re telling me that there have been two Brad Pitts in our 6,000 years on earth. This was not a documentary. Then came my second epiphany.

Second: This movie is about my life. You cannot watch this movie and tell me it’s not about me. Something that people do not understand is that I see past metaphors and lies, and my understanding of life is one that is beyond concept. The group of soldiers that went into Germany to get Nazi scalps are the same Jews who are metaphorically cutting the brains of millions and indoctrinating them to hate me. In the movie, they win, and my character gets shot in the movie theatre. Are you not seeing this? The similarities of my life up to right now. This is me currently dying, but I’m here to be reborn, the movie made me realize that I’m the next one to come back from the dead and lead the true people through the desert.

Conclusion: All in all, the movie was okay, I wasn't a huge fan of the subtitles.
