The Pirates (the cheapest team in baseball) has an unconventional offer to Aaron Judge that might just be too good to be true for the pirate enthusiast.

Many years ago Brian Cashman said something that stands true today, “Desperation drives free agency. A team wants - needs - a player so badly that it will spend whatever it takes to get him, and the salaries climb higher and higher, but if a contract can fulfill a man's hobby then money means nothing anymore.”

Although Judge recently signed a new $360 million contract with the Yankees there have been rumors that he might fail his physical examination to sign with the Pirates instead. As a reminder, the Pirates are not only considered one of the cheapest teams in baseball but also all contracts have a clause forcing each player to spend time with Ben Roethlisberger because he’s been bored since his retirement.

But nonetheless, the Pittsburg Pirates are currently in series consideration for Judge.

What’s in the contract you might ask? Well, our anonymous source (Daniel Snyder) has ‘accidentally’ leaked it exclusively to The Compensation and we are here to share our take on the contract with you.

The greedy bastard Bob Nutting, owner of the Pirates, has done possibly one of the smartest moves in baseball history and found out what Aaron Judge really wants, and let me tell you, it’s not money.

Since a young age, Aaron Judge has stated that he always felt like he had two true callings, baseball and being a pirate. The contract that Nutting conjured up is one that would allow Judge to fulfill both of those passions.

Breaking down all of the lawyer jargon in the contract it basically says that in return for 13 years on the Pirates he will receive a treasure map whenever he requests one however it is clearly stated that it doesn’t need to actually be a treasure or anything at the end, access to the team pirate ship (in very small letters it specifies that if the team ever purchases one he would get to use it), allowed to wear a pirate hat during games, and lastly will still need to spend time with Ben Roethlisberger.

We are not sure if Judge actually understands this contract and the fact that there is no real treasure and the only water near Pittsburgh is the Ohio River but nonetheless, we are excited to see what one of the best players in baseball will decide.
